Tearose is Attacked by Half-Orcs

screenshot00153_sEregion is filled with Saruman’s minions. It was Saruman who unleashed Half-Orcs, the half men and half Orcs, who terrorize the Eregion countryside. They were dispatched to capture hobbits, and bring them to Saruman, alive.

It seemed that some of these Half-Orcs had minds of their own, for Tearose was attacked by two of them in Pend Eregion. What a sight to behold! A tiny hobbit wielding her bow and firing arrows with the speed and skill of the best elven archers of Middle Earth was a rarity indeed. But to witness this same hobbit defeat not one, but two of these evil men, who towered over her, was unbelievable.

Tearose, alive and well, and quite capable of defending herself, would soon have her own chapter in the history of Middle Earth. She proved over and over again that hobbits were indeed remarkable creatures.

Whispers Amidst the Revelry in Overhill

screenshot00147Hobbits don’t seem to need an excuse for a celebration, Ballanor discovered while visiting Overhill recently. They drink their ale and sit outside and tell stories for hours it seems.

One such story caught her attention. Two workers in Overhill called out to each other and this is the gist of what they had to say:

“Tanner, did you hear about Ponto Hornblower over in Brockenborings seeking help in ridding the Greenfields of goblins? Goblins? There are no goblins in the Shire! Surely?”

To which the hobbit called Tanner replied: “Skinner, the problem with you is that you think too much when you’ve had more than your share of ale. Even if there are goblins out there, they are not HERE. So why worry? Let old Ponto deal with it. So stop talking nonsense and let’s have another ale, shall we?”

Not long after hearing that conversation, Ballanor left for Brockenborings to see if she could find out more from the hobbit Ponto Hornblower. She had a feeling she was needed there and her vow to protect these wonderful little people was what made her decide to make Brockenborings her temporary home.

A First Glimpse of Moria

Posted by Tearose - May 14th, 2009

screenshot00145The dizzying heights of bridges, causeways and crevices of Moria was what made Pareth fearful to follow her comrade, Tule Sloughfoot, a hardy hobbit minstrel. It wasn’t enough for Pareth to light numerous torches so that she wouldn’t mis-step and fall because she couldn’t see in the dark places of Moria. Pareth had already fallen once and injured her leg. Moria would be her undoing, Pareth was certain of that.

And this tiny hobbit she travelled with put her to shame. She was nimble and quick and she seemed to know exactly what pitfalls to avoid. Tule would make her hobbit friends back in the Shire proud.

So Pareth took a deep breath and carried on, carefully. She and Tule travelled together to Durin’s Way where she received a message that she was once again needed in the Misty Mountains. Tule, the dear brave soul, was to come along as well, and together they would defeat many goblins and wargs in the north eastern part of the Misty Mountains, in an evil place they called Goblin Town.

But Moria would still be waiting for them. It was rumored that the Company had travelled through Moria. And the future of Middle Earth depended on their safe passage east. Pareth, Tule, and many worthy and brave warriors would see to it that they did.
