A Messenger from Lothlorien
The Elven city of Duillond in Ered Luin has been bustling with activity of late, as many visitors have been coming and going during the Yule festival. Among the many visitors was Laerchel from Lothlorien who came to seek out Dorungur Whitehorn, at the request of the Lady Galadriel. Laerchel was made to feel welcome and she was immediately at ease with the inhabitants of Duillond.
Over the next several days, Laerchel offered her aid and she defeated many goblins who had invaded Limael’s Vineyard and Dol Ringwest. She was tireless in her duties and she became well known and respected in those parts.
The Lady Galadriel had instructed Laerchel to visit the Shire also and scout out certain areas for signs of the enemy, and Laerchel, curious to meet the Halflings, was happy to oblige. But she was delayed by her commitments to the Elves of Falathlorn, and by the time she left for the Shire, brigands had already taken over Old Odo’s Leaf-farm.
Laerchel knew she was going to be staying in the West for many months to come, and she was at peace with her fate. For surely, it wouldn’t be long until she could board a ship and leave Middle Earth with what was left of her kin.
