Elrond of Rivendell Dispatches Another Warrior-In-Training
Minnarviel of Rivendell was a guardian who was sent West at the request of Elrond Half-elven. So she rode with other members of her kin who were leaving Middle Earth on one of the last ships sailing from the Grey Havens, but unlike the others, Minnarviel wanted to stay in Middle Earth as long as she could, because she simply loved it, and would do anything to protect it’s inhabitants.
Elrond knew Minnarviel was happy to stay, but she still needed more training before he sent her East to Mirkwood and beyond. So he arranged for her to be trained by the Master of Duillond, Dorongúr Whitethorn.
When Minnarviel arrived in Ered Luin, she instantly fell in love with the beautiful countryside, despite the presence of wild beasts and other creatures who had been known to attack travelers, though not nearly as often as other parts of Middle Earth.
Dorongúr Whitethorn would keep Minnarviel busy with small but still important tasks that would test her abilities as a guardian warrior. She would become one of the most respected Elven warriors of that time in Middle Earth, and Elrond was pleased when he heard of her many brave deeds.
But Minnarviel modestly downplayed her efforts. She didn’t want the attention. She just wanted to protect everyone she cared for, and do her part to rid Middle Earth of evil forever. That was her focus for many more months to come.
