Raising The Shire

Pareth received a message from Emondir, an elven loremaster who sought to defeat Mordirith, the False King, who had become the Steward of Angmar. Mordirith was inhabiting the castle of Carn Dum and it was to this dangerous place that Pareth met up with her friend.

Pareth was relieved to see Tule, a long-time companion and skilled minstrel, who was to lead Pareth, Emondir, Gennoin, Gilnoldor, and Amblebras into the main castle area. They fought all manner of evil in that place and they stopped for a while to discuss the strategy they would use to defeat Mordirith.

Strategy was Tule’s strength and her superior knowledge of the area kept them alive, though Gilnoldor suffered some serious injuries which Tule tended to quickly and efficiently. Pareth had travelled to Carn Dum before and she remembered her friend’s advice to follow her intructions carefully, and she did.

Pareth was ready for Mordirith and from the fierce look in Gennoin’s eyes, she knew he was ready too. The six companions worked well together and fought bravely and in the end they defeated Carn Dum’s evil steward and his minions.

Rest was brief, however, for soon they would be needed east, and they would march against Isengard to face the traitor Saruman. The war was far from over, it seemed.
